hi i was just wondering if you are on a waterfast and you were inhaling incense smoke every day would it stop your body from fasting properly?

Well dear Marilena, I for one will not inhale any form of smoke if I can avoid it at all..

Whether it would trigger your digestive procsses will be determined by your subconscious associations with the smell. For example, if you have been exposed to this specific smell many times whilst eating, or whilst contemplating eating, then it might.

Once experienced in fasting, however, your body will not initiate digestive processes before you physically put something in your mouth. Some of us can prepare food for others on our fasting days without having any reaction, particularly if we have learned not to eat at set times. This way the body becomes conditioned not to respond with a digestive act before it really needs to.

ok thanks ya i think if i keep the incense stick away form me i wont actually be inhaling the smoke so it will be fine.
