after long time i have started a new try in fasting, my longest was 5 days water only i did 10 years ago and was a great experience.
This time i had to give up after 3 days because i lost a little bit motivation, but also because i got bad aches in my back and spine, have found information that in fasting spinal aches are a commen problem, is this true and any possibility to avoid this?

Dear slimfitguy,

Yes back aches are very common and different people experience it at different times with different intensity. Personally during my 40-day fast I had a handful of days when I had them but they were definitely uncomfortable. I do believe though that one of the benefits of fasting is development of strength to withstand physical discomfort, hence I just tolerated these aches until they were gone.

I want to welcome you to the site and invite you to blog your experience in the Blog section. You will get a lot more support and feedback that way.

I have already heared about that problem. I´m only a little bit worried because i had problems with back some years ago (without fasting) and the problems had disappeared and returned properly now, so i don´t want to make the situation bader with my spine. Maybee i will ask the medic now.
The back aches where realy very bad, especialy in the day after stopping with fasting it got even worse. Now one day later the aches in back are a little bit better but now my shoulder is aching, so i don´t know what´s going on.
I also had the impression that my back aches maybee came from muscle crampings of internal muscules between ribcage spine and hips, if i stretch out it gets a little bit better, if i sit or lay down it gets bader.
Next time when i fast again i will try to blog about experiences.
Maybee also i have a litle bit overdone with sports during fasting, i was every day working out in gym (as usual) and running. The first 2 days i didn´t notice getting weak, had only a change of times feeling fully energetic and times feeling a little bit weak, dizzy and slightly headaches. Especialy after workout with empty stomach i felt realy good.
And finaly with emty stomach my waist looked nicely slim and the whole body more attractive. Since times i could also see my abs again. Because i have not much bodyfat when i fast i get an lean and ripped look very fast. That´s also one motivation....maybee the biggest....
