Hi Shant! thanks for the info on Miso. Well done on fasting whilst travelling, how did you manage to do that?!

Shant -I'd like to know as well!

I do better (as Im finding out) when I look ahead/plan a 3-4 day fast, rather than trying one every other day. I seem to get complacent, or justify eating excuses. Knowing Im going to eat the next day, makes me think of food and I EXPECT too much tempation, which temps me. Does that make any sense?

Maybe its my "all of nothing" thinking. When I plan 3-4 days back-to-back I "give it all I've got" and expect to do it.

Anyone else struggle with this?

Erin, I am like you, that's why I don't think I can ever do the alternate day IF. What kind of fasting are you on? all water? or the health divas one?

Well, I always fast from morning until dinner - and eat within a window from 5pm to 10 pm (but I'll end up eating around 8pm or so). And that's just habit/lifestyle. I'll normally eat a regular meal with some snacking later, etc. This is more "eat stop eat" style, but I do it everyday regardless.

But when I actually fast for more than 24 hours - I do an actual water fast. All water, and really not much, as it is. I'm not a big drinker. (I'm probably always dehydrated because I just don't like water)

And I'm somewhat familiar with Heath Divas - but I don't drink coffee (hate the taste) nor any other artificially flavored beverages. Anything with flavor triggers strong cravings, and I get bad reactions from the sweeteners (a lot of the powder mixes contain soy). I'll have to go back and read it again.

I know a lot of my cravings come from being dehydrated, but I can't seem to drink more water. I've tried everything - not even lemon helps me drink more.

Erin: The same here. Either everything or nothing. I rather eat in the evening. If I start in the morning, I can't stop.

Erin, Chelsea: i eat out of boredom and when preparing food - I love cooking/baking and experimenting. If I'm not at home and don't have access to the kitchen area I do pretty fine and don't have any urge to eat. 5 days wasn't a big deal. Despite the first day when I felt like crap after the early morning flight and still had a long journey ahead. I'm up for another round, this time something more serious, and in the familiar settings. Just need to find some activities to substitute time spent in the kitchen. I never spent so much time there like in the past 4 months.. It's like taking a toy from the child!

Hi everybody,
I can't believe how busy this thread has been! It's really pretty great to see a group of like-minded people coming together in support of their mutual goals :)
Had an unexpectedly crazy busy week, which turned into the first week I haven't fasted at least 3 of the 7 days in the past 5 weeks! Don't feel too great after such a long period.
I'm glad to read about what other folks have been up to though. Realistically, I don't think I will start fasting until Tues or Wed night. It will be a relief to settle back into a 3-4 day fast!
Just wanted to check in on you all. Hope you ladies/gents had a rewarding weekend!

M
