Hi, I'm on day 3 of a water fast and i hope to keep it steady for 7 days. I'm a bordreline petite girl, with a thin frame. How exactly should I go about breaking the fast and re-introducing food to my diet after wards? Any advice helps! Thanks!!

On the first days of fasting, it is recommended to think about anything else but food or breaking the Fast...Actually we are very well fed during all the time we water fast. For the first 3 days of fasting, we receive nutrients from the intestinal chyle remaining in our gut and we also have plenty of reserves in the liver to be moderatly active. We can clean our room, change our bedding and make ourself very comfortable for the next week or so. I usually empty the refrigerator and shelving of all foods that I give away to a friend or neighbour. I clean and disconnect the refrigerator to avoid hearing the compressor's noise and vacum the apartment. On the fourth day of Fasting the appetite disapears and Autolysis begins..we need more rest and stop bathing or showering for the rest of the fasting period. Just brush your teeth, gargle with clear water and wash with facecloth and warm water. No soap. Autolysis automatically destroys and cleans the infectious areas of the body by recycling old cells and replacing then with new functionel cells. During the Water Fast, the healing is happening on a celular level.Be sure to drink slowly about a liter (32 oz) of water a day...If you start eating too rapidly you stop the celular healing before it is completed.
If you have been fasting for one week , you should take one week to recuperate slowly and gradually...on a raw organic fruit and vegetable diet, walking 15 minutes in fresh air and in the sun the second day adding 5 minutes to this time the next day and so on... Otherwise you are wasting your time, money and effort. One pealed organic apple per meal starting at noon is recomended for the first few day of recuperation. Then add 2-3 leafs of organic lettuce at the evening meal. Melon is very good if organic but Juices are much too concentrated in sugars and create a glucose shock/stimulation to the liver.Juice should not be used as a stimulant. In physiology any stimulation is followed by a depression... For any lasting results a minimum of 7 days of water fasting is necessary and should be done in a fasting clinic where one learns how to fast intelligently next to people who have been fasting for longer periods... Then you can try it with confidence for one week alone at home. That way you know what to do or expect during the fast and what to do to break a fast gently and intelligently...Be kind and gentle to your wonderful unique body and it will serve you a long and happy, radiant healthy, life. Beauty and Joy are the Result of Health.

Thanks!! I have noticed that keeping a bit busy helps a lot! Helps me to not concentrate on the dense headache ive had for the past couple of days. I do have more energy today than i did on the first or second day. I dont have access to any fasting clinics where I am but wanted to do the longest I could by myself while still being reasonable. This morning i do feel less hungry than the previous 2 days.

As far as breaking it, should everything be organic? I know i shouldnt focus on eating, i just want to be able to buy the things I need ahead of time.

Thank you so much for your insight! I've been keeping Dr. Fuhrmans book handy, but this definitely filled in some gaps =D

Fasting clinics I visited always serve organic fruit and vegetables because safer and much tastier...
After a longer fast, I ate non-organic cherries that burnt my tongue for the rest of the day ... A friend of mine burnt his tongue for days with organic pineapple that is the most acid and sweet fruit available but should be avoided after a fasting period when the tongue is more sensitive. After a longer fast mineral reserves are lower than usual since minerals have been used to nutrilize toxins during their cellular elimination . Always peel your fruit even if organic as you eat it.Its much more palatable and slows down your eating pace...After a Fast You deserve the Best...Organic is the Best...

Hi Urgelles - welcome to this forum. May I ask, what is the main reason of your fasting?

I have an overactive immune system, and from what ive researched, i can help manage it with my diet, aside from some herbs ive been prescribed after accupuncture. I wanted a way to start eating healthy again after a year of eating extremely unhealthy, so i figured this was a good way to reset ant start eating for my blood type and get off of animal protein/poultry again.

Hello Urgelles and welcome. How is it going today? Could you please elaborate on "overactive immune system" a bit more?

for about 2 years ive had symptoms very similar to lupus, and was in the process of getting blood tests where things would show up once time but not the other, so the results were all jumbled and not very conclusive. I've also had a tendency towards hypothyroidism. After getting some acupuncture for 10 sessions, the fatigue and the joint pain associated with my hyper immune system ( meaning that instead of fighting only colds and viruses, something triggers your system to attack itself. This causes joint pain, sluggishness, heavy fatigue, skin rashes, etc) I still have some of the symptoms, like the facial 'rash' and uneven skin texture.

Today is great, it's day 4 and i dont feel hungry so far at all, and less sluggish and dizzy as before. Though it is only 9 am so time will tell. Today I will have to be a bit more active than usual, running errands and prepping the house for a tropical storm with my family. I'll definitely be sure to not over exert myself.

Hi,
Your auto-immune system Problem could be completely healed according to Dr Seignalet by one year of Raw Food Diet....
His research in biochemistry explain the complexity of irritating new molecules created by cooking.
Fire was discovered/invented about 1 million years ago and used mainly for lighting and heating only...Cooking was invented after the invention of metalurgy, commerce, distribution of ovens, cooking pots and pans about 10,000 years ago with agriculture, farming and gardening ...
-In Biology 10,000 years is not enough time for an adaptation to cooked food to be transmitted genetically. We only tolerate cooked food if we eat raw food before or with the cooked food. If the first bite of food we put in our mouth when we eat is cooked food .. the immune system reacts promptly as if it is a foreign element(like a poison or a virus) and creates Leucocytosis (anormal augmentation of white blood cells in the blood) to protect the organism. When some of the complex undigested cooked molecules get in your blood through the small intestine...your immune system gets overexcited and everreacts creating the symptoms that you describe...
The good news is Now You Know the Cause of the illness...all you have to do is remove the cause and the illness and symptoms will go away... Fibromyalgia and M.S. are also caused by the undigested cooked (protein) molecules that get accidently into the blood stream also and can be healed simply the same way...
One year Of Raw Food Only...
Remember when you boil food the temperature cannot go over 100 Celcius (222F.) but that destroys 100% of all useful enzymes and 95% of all usefull Vitamins...Steaming vegetables 5 minutes is enough. But when you fry or Oven Roast food it goes up to 200 Celcius (400F.)That temperature destroys 100% of Enzymes Vitamins, Minerals and denatures the proteins and fats turning them into irritaing foreign molecules that the organisme is unadapted to manage. All animal bodies on this planet are programmed to eat and digest Raw, organic ,natural foods. An Olive contains 20% oily fats. But Olive oil contains 100% oily fats. When I eat a little Cold pressed organic olive oil in a salad I get joint pain immediatly. That means that my lymphatic system that nurrishes my joints reacts with inflamation and pain to olive oil but not to black olives... All oils are unnatural industrial products that should be avoided...If you want liposoluble vitamins (ADE), eat raw, organic avocadoes, nuts or eggs once in a while...Your body stores reserves of these vitamins (ADE) for 90 days so you do not have to eat these sources very often or very much.Just once or twice per season...
For me Acupuncture is a waste of time and money. Your own body reorients automatically your subtle energies every millisecond.. The moment you step out of the acupuncture office your Unconscious has reorganized it's meredians...Who knows best ? Your acupunctor or your (Unconscious) Automatic Pilot that created you in your mother's woomb ?
Who makes your body digest and heart beat when your consciousness is sleeping ?
- Your Unconscious (intelligence) not your acupunctor !
Trust your Unconscious Automatic Pilot who is programed to Heal you if you remove the cause of your problem and put your body to Rest...Physical rest, emotional rest, sensory rest ,sexual rest, intellectual rest and digestive rest(fasting)...

Wow thanks Biologiste. This is very interesting info. At the moment I cannot go completely raw, just because of finances and availability, but i definitely will start incorporating more raw foods into my diet hopefully being able to go completely raw in the future. I also plan on taking gluten completely out of my diet and resuming a mostly vegetarian diet. Again, Thank you for all of this information, it is very enlightening.

Yes Ally that was part of it but it was meat from the Orkos distributors which is ultra organic as was all their produce. However I did not and do not have an affinity for meat so I only really had a small amount half a dozen times. But I did eat a raw rabbit lol!

I also spent time at Burger's Castle near Paris and got to see the Instincto folk first hand. And Burger's kids. Experience was exceptional and people around me noted how much more pleasant I was to be around. That was quite some time ago though. Are you tempted?

Since I start school on tuesday, the 7th and would be last day of my fast, I am going to break it on Monday..well tomorrow. Thank you guys for all the support, having a better idea of what to expect definitely helped.

Also I'd like to ask, was i supposed to stop feeling hungry completely, or just not the way most people think hunger feels like? just curious. Also I havent been feeling extremely week, which is a bit weird for me since everyone talks about that.

Thanks for your reply David.

I have some Raw cookbooks, have made several dishes and have eaten at raw restaurants but I always wondered how it would be to go completely raw. I love sushi and have eaten raw organic meat so Raw Paleo appeals to me most with the emphasis on veggies and fruits with a small amount of fish and meat.
