Okay so I discovered this site today in hopes that it would help me stay on the correct path during this fast that im going to undergo.

I started my first fast started sunday and got through the first day perfectly fine without and problems
 Then came my second day . In the beginning I was fine but later on in the evening I got this HUGE urge to eat some sugar. and around midnite I caved and drank some lemonade.
I know... AWFUL .

So now its Wednesday and im prepared to restart my fast and get through those first 3 days so i can finish a whole week of fasting.

i just need something to keep me busy and i was hoping that by writing updates in this forum, id have something to keep food and sweets off my mind

starting emotions
1. Im worried that I wont drink enough water because I've always hated drinking plain water. but im aiming for 5 (12 fl oz) water bottles ..is this nearly enough?
2. Slightly depressed
3. Overall Im feeling like i can get through this andhoping that I do because at times my friends would offer me something to eat and i wouldnt be hungry but Id say yes anyways and then completely devour the whole meal. I guess its greed. Id like to control that.

starting weight
125 pounds

Pleaseee post about your experiences and any tips you can offer. I would greatly appreciate it !

Hello Crohn! I have just joined this site yesterday. I have been postponing my fast for too long now. Excuses, excuses ....
I feel like I need a support system to at least start the process. I have fasted on water for 6 days in 2006 and for 21 days in 2008. I remember to have some cravings here and there during the fast, but I also felt nauseous, lightheaded and weak esp. in the first few days. On day four I felt better than on days 1,2 and 3. I drank according to thirst with no particular regimen. Feeling slightly or not so slightly depressed during a water fast is not uncommon I read somewhere and experienced myself. Food is a great comforter after all. Keeping busy is a major issue. That is why having a support system is really important.
I am planning on a 10-21 day fast beginning of July and I am looking for a buddy for the first 3-4 days and may be more. For me these first 3-4 days were the most difficult and I was about to break my fast any moment. In 2008 I used the support of curezone water fasting forum and that what probably the only reason I survived the first four days. And after that it just flows, the body and mind adjust and it feels easy.
I posted on a 21 day fast thread of this forum but I will be visiting all water fasting places here.
Good luck. If you plan something in July after the 4th we can buddy. I need at least one day to mentally prepare.
Good luck.

A warm welcome Crohn,

starting emotions
1. Im worried that I wont drink enough water because I've always hated drinking plain water. but im aiming for 5 (12 fl oz) water bottles ..is this nearly enough?

1. There are two schools of thought: Drink as much as you can as presribed by Dr Batmanghelidj in his book The Body's Many Cries For Water.

Or follow your instinct as recommended by The Fast Doctor.

Or find a source of super tasty water which you feel like drinking.
personally I dislike water from plastic bottles and prefer my Rerverse Osmosis water especially after a filter change.

2. Fasting has that effect on me too but it doesn't last.

3. I too share that trait and have a adopted an Intermittent Fasting routine to learn to control this behaviour.

Feel free to post your daily blogs on our Blog page which may be better suited for you.

And please do keep us updated I wish you success.

DAY THREEEE WOO!

I almost caved last night but I kept telling myself if I get past it the next day will be better and Im sooo happy that I didnt cave.

So yesterday, which was day two, I was supposed to post but my energy was all drained . I didnt feel like a person . I felt as though my body was telling me to QUIT. And yesterday I vowed that if the energy drain didnt get better by day four that I would end my fast. But it did get better today, as you can see I am writing this post and Im in a great mood.

@Shulgin GoodMorning !
I am pleased to say I read your post yesterday but didnt really have the energy to reply but since you said "On day four I felt better than on days 1,2 and 3." it totally got me through yesterday and I am thankful that you posted that !

@David GoodMorning to you too !
I really like your tips and as for finding a source of tasty water, I actually considered that but I couldnt even go down the stairs , let alone get out the front door ! and I think if I asked my mom to get me some she would be suspicious ...she doesnt approve of Water Fasts. Also Im pleased to say Im no longer feeling sadness.

Now to post some updates :)!

emotions on day 2
1. Depression at its worst
2. Restlessness . I could NOT sleep
3. I could smell food everywhere
4. Also I think I had a really bad attitude about everything. Id get mad about noise and go off ranting about how much I hated that person/thing for about a minute until I got tired again

weight.
I didnt get a chance to weigh myself yesterday
but I weighed myself this morning = 120
ooo and I lost one inch off my waist ! from 27 - 26 yay

emotions/weight on day three
-well since day three is not finished yet, ill probably post later on tonight or tomorrow morning.

So keep posting people! Id love to hear about your experiences . It helps me alottt
Haveee an amazing dayy!

Hello Crohn! You are doing great and even better days are coming.
You don't need to respond to my post if you are tired or don't feel like saying anything. That's how I felt between day 5-10 or so.
In regard to water fasting depression and insomnia are the biggest turn off for me. I guess everything comes with a price. Going outside and walking or sitting in the park or by the ocean helped me a little. Tuning with nature kind of thing.
Meanwhile, I went to my old fasting forum, found some fasting buddies there and was the first one to quit after only 20 hrs. That was on 6/30. I really was originally planning to start after the July 4th weekend but because two people were starting on 6/30 I decided to join them. They are still on.
It made me think that may be David was right when he suggested shorter fasts. When you think 21 days it seems like a really long time especially for a comfort eater. But when you think in terms of 24-36 hrs, it looks much easier and then who knows I may go even further.
Anyway, somehow after those 20 hrs my appetite decreased significantly, I ate much less than usual all the following days including today and I see food differently (with more respect) just after 20 hrs fast.
I will not announce my next water fast unless I pass a 24 hr mark.
I will be visiting both forums. Good luck to you. Keep busy to overcome the low mood.
