Hi everyone!

Well I,m back for a new fast, my third one I think. I'll start with a week and see how it goes. I used to be a purist but not anymore more. This is defenetively not a juice fast, and I am drinking distilled water, but was wondering about a some green tea, black tea (jasmin/earl grey sort) or herbal teas.

What do you think of this?

Thanks everyone! Guy

not a good idea to drink tea while fasting. it is a stimulant and will not allow for healing. it will also make you hungrier than if you did not drink it and prevent you from getting into ketosis and burning your own body fat for energy if you consume anything besides water during a fast, it is no longer a fast. read Dr. Fuhrman's book Fasting and Eating for Health. It is available in the bookshop on this site.

i hope you will blog about your fast in our "BLOG" section.

great to have you here

I always drink green tea when water fasting. The caffeine does worsen my insomnia but I still love it and it makes me feel less hungry during the first few days of my fast actually. Of course, I drink it unsweetened. I also got into ketosis just fine while drinking tea. Doesn't a lack of food that you can get glucose from cause ketosis? Even on Atkin's I drank green tea and got into ketosis just fine.
