My greetings to you all. I hope you won't mind my English since I'm from Serbia.
Anyway, to cut the story short - last week I started my very first water fast. It was meant to last for 7 days. I entered the fast the right way, and I found it to be rather easy. Of course, there have been some hunger pains and quite a few episodes of postural hypotension (as expected) but overall I felt really well. Even during workdays, I felt like I was "on top of my game" and I could easily see myself doing a longer fast in a near future.
However, on 5th day I had to break it. Not because I felt unwell, quite the contrary, but because my family was blessed with some extraordinary news, my sister gave birth to a beautiful baby girl... Let's just say that occasions like that have to be celebrated in a particular way here in Serbia. Pastry, meat, sugars, alcohol... All the bad stuff. I just couldn't say "no" to that. Stupid move, I know. I got to regret it just a few hours later, while I was suffering an excruciating pain in my stomach, breaking up a heavy cold sweat... But I'm sure you all know how it goes. Don't worry, I've learned my lesson.
Anyway... I have two questions. Is it possible that one day of rather unhealthy eating could destroy those 4 days of fasting? And most importantly, when can I start again? I am eager to get back on the fasting track and do it the right way!

HI Tasha and thank you for sharing your good news and the side effects of breaking your fast in a rather radical way. You are absolutely right most of us have been there and thank goodness you came out without any serious side effects. I think the secret of a successful fast is in breaking the fast so that should answer your first question. And regarding your second attempt, I think you can approach it whenever you are sure that there are no more babies on their way :)

Good luck to you and never beat yourself up over a failed attempt to fast.

Thank you so much for your answer! I wanted to give it another go the very next day but I was worried that it would mess something up. :)

Anyway, I started again this morning (last night actually), and so far I am feeling great and enthusiastic. This time I'm gonna see it through.
