I suspect they'd be hard to design, but maybe some have been done? I don't imagine it's easy to run a double blind fasting study!

Just curious :)

BTW, I don't mean IF, nor CR. I mean people who regularly do medium/long fasts.

Yo're right dear Ed, you can't really design double blind placebo controlled studies on fasting. But studies in rats have found longevity associated with regular fasting.

In many studies the effect of IF was equivalent to CR even if the IF groups had their "normal" calorie intake, thus double normal every second day and fasting every other day..

Yep, I read Roy Walford's book a while ago. Fascinating stuff. I also focus on HIIT, which is another natural way to keep HGH up.

I suspect HGH has a great deal to do with longevity, although I've not researched it thoroughly.

Thanks for all the work you put into this site. It must keep you more than a little busy :)

True dear Ed.. but CONTINUALLY high HGH would lead to acromegaly, that's why I like the intermittent approach.

Definitely. That's life overall: cycles. Exercise hard, rest, rinse and repeat. Same with fasting, work, love making, sleep, laughter, you name it.
