Hi, I'm hoping to find somebody who has actually cured acne and red marks by fasting.

If so, how long did it take? Did you do any dry days? What was your activity like?

thanks!

Acne, like so many other diseases, dear Jimmy, has causes and susceptible hosts. Even if you "cure" it, if you don't change the basics and return to the state that was in place when the acne developed, it is likely to recur.

I have indeed seen many states of rather severe acne "heal" to a large extent during a fast but then it was almost always an active fast. Eliminating underlying toxins has a much better chance of bringing about a permanent remission than for example just treat an infection which typically just complicates the underlying condition.

Sometimes acne occurs as a result of a relative immune deficiency towards stapyhlococci or other bacteria implicated in acne. Then I prefer to add immunization with these bacteria. A good microbiology laboratory can culture your own lesions to make a serum.

Unfortunately, dear Jimmy, acne is not one condition... it's different in different people so there's no one size fits all in its cure.

Thanks doc, as always! Just wondering, what exactly do you mean by an 'active fast'?
I'm on day 3 now and almost broke it again... Had a slice if organic whole foods pizza in my hand.
I find it very difficult to get through, I usually break it before the first 5 days.

I think it would probably be easier to do coming off a healthy diet- I always jump immediately into off a poor diet, which maybe why the cravings are so bad.

The "active fast", dear Jimmy, is when you are active while fasting, in particularly doing the 5-step elimination activities. We have discussed it many, many times in these forums. Our experience is that a cycle practically ruins your appetite...

A "poor diet" is to some extent a BETTER way to start a fast, as your body would then be in the process of processing junk stuff, thus continue processing (and eliminating) these during the fast.
