This was not a correct fast by any means. This was a starvation diet.

The difference between fasting and starvation is found in the reserves.. if there are reserves of nutrients in the body, not eating is fasting. Once you have depleted certain nutrients totally, starvation sets in. Most reasonably normal people have reserves of all essential nutrients for 40 days (the biblical fast).

Still, during a fast, even a lot shorter than 40 days, you can do damage to your body if the toxins you mobilize during the fast is not eliminated. We are more often damaged not by what we fail to take in, but by what we fail to eliminate.

Originally I never liked the way Blaine fasted because he took intravenous supplements. I had felt this may interfere with the correct physiological operations of the fasting organism & cause starvation possibly. However I'm not sure now.

I didn't know there was fraud involved.. you cannot call someone fasting simply because the nutrients entered the body parenterally (other than by the intestine).

If the intravenous administrations were complete foods, then there's obviously no fasting. If they were incomplete (like practically all "supplements") then that would imbalance the metabolism. You won't find me abusing my body that way.
