Indeed dear Shant. It's better of course not to have too much redundant fat in the first place but if you have it, you can put it to good use keeping your brain, heart, other vital organs, muscles, etc., going. Thus if the environment helps maintain your body temperature, you have more residual energy from fat breakdown to do the things you like doing...

The higher heart rate likely indicates an attempt at diverting more heat to the skin to be gotten rid of. You can measure energy by measuring CO2 production.

I do think you get it.. but due to my limited English we perhaps miscommunicate from time to time.

How long should the sweat phase last?

I normally sit in an infrared sauna for 60 minutes. It will get up to 150 degrees.

Dear Drew, there is intentionally no times associated with the duration of the steps. You decide on biofeedback when you are ready for the next step. Thus any step can last from a minute to two hours or more.. just continually contemplate experiencing the next step then your body will tell you when it has "completed" the current one.

I know this is vague but really even within one day the duration from one cycle to another may change 10 fold or more.
