is it healthy to use bentonite clay while water fasting? I've done numerous juice fasts and 4-5 day water fasts.....I want to try and do a 7+ day water fast to help eliminate toxin buildup and a small amount of weight but every time I hit day 3, 4, and 5 i'm incredibly weak and want to pass out most of the time....which is rather alarming.....I know there's a peak toxin buildup point you have to get past but I've read on several sites that other folks have been having good results with using bentonite liquid clay in distilled water.....(some people added lemon juice as well) but I just want to be able to detox as thoroughly as possible and still have light activity (work) daily without the threat of blackouts.

Any suggestions? Something that will prevent blackouts and allow me to function fairly normally without exercise while still providing enough of a calorie deficiency that forces my body into ketosis?

ps....I have 'Garden Greens AcaiSplash' powder that I use at home with my freshly squeezed juices when i'm juicing but didn't know if I could just use a diluted version of the powder while 'water fasting' in order to off-set the dizzy spells to a certain degree. (it contains natural caffeine from green tea sources)

thanks!!!

Hello Sabrosa there are some fasting protocols which use bentonite combined with psyllium husks for the purpose of mopping up intestinal debris. However on this site The Fast Doctor does not encourage this but rather his Active Fasting system which he calls the Five Step Elimination Cycle which serve to rid the body of the extra toxins mobilised by the fast. It is more than likely that the weak feeling you experience is caused by these toxins especially those released from body fat. I get this problem too but the way I deal with it is by adopting an IF routine. Let us know how you get on.

David is absolutely right dear Sabrosa. If you experience an adverse effect during a fast, then whatever caused that symptom must have been in your body before you stopped putting things into your body (fasting). Thus it is caused by something trying to get out, not something that needs to get in.

I would avoid most things that comes in powder form.. the "life force" has obviously been squeezed out of it!
