Inspired by recent fasting successes, i've decided to no longer postpone and restart my fasting regime.

I have experienced pretty amazing results in the past - completely cured allergy related issues that used to drag me down every summer for almost 15 years. I could do it because of the existence of FC and its success stories. Thank you.

My longest water fast so far was ten days around this time last year and am determined to repeat it. Convincing myself that im looking forward to it would be a lie but the fact that i did it before is a legitimate proof that what i did once i can do again.

Day 1.

I feel the same as Shant and have decided to repeat my 6 week alternate day water fast. One of the main benefits I reaped from it was a very alkaline saliva. Wishing you a bright start Shant.

Hi Shant.

I will try to join you. Would love to do 10 days. I've been meditating on my resistance, and trying to visualize the goodness that will come from fasting. I've always had allergies too, especially mucous. Not eating takes it all away.

I'm not excited about it either, but deep down I am! Good luck to you, and hope you keep us posted. I will do the same !

Thank you, guys. Happy to know I'm not alone in this.

David, exactly.. Im shooting for alternate days and 10 days straight in the process as a result or vice versa if that makes sense?

Danielle.. Oh, tell me something about mucous. Im stuffed right now :).= my nose is

Wish you both great will power. I need it more than i thought.. last night my mind was playing tricks on me so i ate vegetables after i completed 24 hrs of water fast. Dont care how long it will take me to get where i want myself to be, i will eventually get there.

At least you ate vegetables...I ate chocolate. All we can do is try and try again. I think my weakness comes when I am recovering from eating, and trying to work out my mucus and get to ketosis. I feel frustrated and sluggish, so I eat. Not the solution!
I went for a super long sweaty walk and bike ride this morning. Feeling pretty energized and great, and have lost all cravings. Perfect time to start this fast.

Best of luck! Let's do this !!!

Thought I had outwitted my stomach yesterday and then it was oh just a simple tomato soup.....and then well there is some tuna in the fridge that may go off....and then oh there happens to be sushi which could go off too. Hey ho here is another bright and cheerful day for a successful day 1 :)

I wish I could just make it through one day without putting anything in my mouth. So frustrated right now. Going to work out and try to get back on track.
Thanks for sharing. Nice to know others are going through this food/power struggle too !

David?? I thought you were a vegeterian? Btw i had sushi just a while ago. Eat day. Hold tight!

Daniele, haha.. Lucky you you dont remember my days 1 :). Got some tricks that help you overcome some of the 1st day cravings? I tried to paint... Mixing acrylics is quite fun. Cleaning the desk and myself afterwards not so much.

But seriously guys, we need to focus on water now. Compromises are for weak players. Agree?

Ps: took an epsom salt/soda/ ginger bath last night.. I dont really get why so many people claim its relaxing effects. I didnt experience any. Also, i really admire anyone who can stay in a warm bath for 20 mins straight. I had a timer on and my max time was 7 min 11 sec..

Another almost 24 in the pocket. It seems to end just there. Irritated. Think i'm either too bored or have developed emotional attachment to food since i have stopped fasting regularly.
Bought neon acryclics today in a hope they would entertain me from 5 pm onwards (that seems to be my critical time).

I think it's great that you almost got to 24! I can barely get to 24 minutes :cheer: Seriously, we have to figure out what makes up stop and give in. There's either an underlying fear (of letting go into the unknown) or a stubborn will. I sometimes find I am not in the least bit hungry, but I'll just stick something in my mouth.

It is easier when I exercise and sweat and go potty and have most of the toxins/food out of my system. Then, the cravings and tired feeling are non-existant.

Hmmm...how can we do this ? !!

Totally, Danielle. Took me 15 days to get to midday 2. Not celebrating it though... yet! How are you doing?

Also find it harder to fast later in the day as i most usually workout in the am. Which wasn't an issue at all when i was used to fasting regurarly... Duuhh

Shant,

I too find it more difficult to fast later in the day (and especially during the evening). I am rarely hungry during the morning or afternoon.

Hey Shant!

Was thinking of you last night. I'm doing pretty well. Not 100% fasting yet, but getting nearer and nearer every minute :P

Ock, you are the dude who can twist his mind into whatever you want! Your fasting toughness is still an enigma to me :). I guess practice makes perfect. To me, you are perfect when it comes to programming your mind when it comes to fast.

Danielle, one minute at a time? I'm with you! :)

Shant,

I really do appreciate the kind words. However I still have difficulty with (of all things) shorter fasts! It boggles my mind that David did IF for at least six months. I don't yet have a consistent IF routine solved, but I am moving closer to accomplishing this each week. I suppose that just like longer fasts, 'perfecting' an effective IF method takes practice. As you say, 'practice makes perfect.'

Happy fasting. :)

September took me there! I'm in day 3 of having consumed nothing but water and 3 sugar free gums. Good sleep. I woke up very weak but decided to workout anyway. The first 30 minutes were rough. I thought i'd faint but i knew that it was temporarily and if i shake my limbs a lil more, i'd feel great. And i did! I still do! Did a brief massage afterwards, jumped into the tub that left me incredibly hyper. I will see how long for, however.

First 2 days were ok otherwise. Surprisingly, i slept good 6-9 hours as opposed to my other fasts. Happy for that.

Hi Shant,

Congrats on making it to your third day! I am also in my third day of a fast, but I decided to do a dry fast because when I drink water, I have a hard time staying with my fast, I'm weird.

;)

Keep it up!
Barb

Thank you, Barbara. Congrats right back at you! You're not weird, a lot of FC guys find it easier to beat cravings with dry fasting. :)

Today marks day 5. Yesterday was blissful. Today i woke up early and with a slight headache that will hopefully go away soon. Realized the later i hit the sack, the less I sleep. Took another epsom salt bath yesterday after a workout. I swear the magnesium in it does a huge trick for me when the body is in ketotic state. It's almost like a dark chocolate fix. Also, every day i wake up with redish legs, so i suppose thats where i burn most of the fat.. Would be brilliant!

Considering to take a break on Saturday (tomorrow) for social reasons. No cravings during this fast at all. Let's see how i can get back into the fasting routine. Viva autumn fasting!

Congrats on making it to 5 days Shant!! Sounds like you're doing awesome and enjoying your fast. I totally understand taking a break on the weekends, I did that last weekend when I attended wedding reception.

Have a great weekend. ;)
