Way to go! I still have yet to make it one full day, but my food intake is less and my exercise levels is higher. I am feeling calmer. I also notice when I don't eat, especially sugar, I don't worry about things. All the little thoughts that tug at me just disappear. What a delightful state of being. looking forward to upping my determination to fully fast. Trying to meditate on the positive things, like peaceful slumber, comfortable body, no worries, etc.

Happy for you Shant, and all others, on your successes!!

Thank you, ladies.
Barbara: wedding reception sounds like fun!
Danielle: i must admit i go cold turkey. I haven't learnt to meditate, that's what hopefully will come along with deeper fasting. Im not a very spiritual person but i love green outdoors where i let my thoughts go all directions :).

Day 2:
Day 1 went well. I set myself a goal for the last week to endure 5 days and because i broke the previous 5 day water fast 2 hours earlier, i finished another extra day yesterday. Did weight training and karate in the morning (super energetic was i!) and when the boredom of not eating finally kicked in, i took a bath and then went to bed to sweat it off. Another good reason was that i overindulged over those 24 hours when i was eating. also checked on the scale this morning. I weighed myself on the 5th day of the fast and there's a difference of 5,5 kg today. It may sound shocking for some but i am not surprised at all. Circumferences are the same so all is good. My goal for this week is another 5 days, either split or in one go.
As of now, i feel tip top. Happy i made it last night and didn't give up.

Shant,

I am going cold turkey. Ate too much over the weekend and am paying the price. I will do 5 days with you. Let's do it! I believe in us.

Shant,

Sorry to just jump in here, but I came across your post and wanted to know how you are getting along. How did the fast go? I understand all to well the challenges. I fasted for 11 excruciating days in 2009 but just now found the will to do another.

Danielle,

It's been a few months since I last posted comments. I haven't been able to stick with a fast. Living with and looking after my 94 year old ill parents is stressful and depressing and I'd been turning to food for comfort and distraction. But I did complete day 1 of a water fast and will continue with it. As soon as I wake up, I go the the FC site for motivation and throughout the day if I feel my resolve fading I return to the FC site and this has helped. Perhaps this approach can help you as well.

It's October 1 and there is no better way to start the month then with a fast. Good Luck to all.

Hey!! It has been forever. So glad you are here. I agree, October 1st is a great time to start. I'm with you, and will commit to a water/dry fast. I feel good about it. Just went for a 6 mile walk and have some food that I need to get rid of inside, but once it passes, I'll feel like a million! Really happy to reunite with you. We can help motivate each other.

Hang in there, and know that fasting is probably the best thing you can do. It totally cleans up depression and just makes everything feel lighter and easier.

XO

Colleen: it went really well, thanks :). Check out Acmaragh's journal, that lady is taking on another 6 week fast!
Danielle: that's the good attitude!

Day 3 coming to an end. I've been feeling super all the time. Did another epsom salt bath yesterday, finished an intense but shorter workout just a while ago and took a cold shower afterwards. If i can recall i think it was on my day 3 last time when i felt some weakness that went away while i was exercising. Nothing similar happening this time.
Also, i think earlier in September when I thought i would fast but couldnt make it to bed on an empty stomach, it was because i allowed myself to drink water with lemon or tea when the cravings kicked in thinking it would help me a bit. Quite the opposite if i can recall :).

I'll break the water fast probably tomorrow and and re-shoot myself on fasting milky way the day after (thursday for me).

Happy fasting, ladies
