i know that whilst water fasting i lose about 1-2 pounds a day im just wondering if at the end of a 7 day water fast i lose say 7 pounds how much would be actual fat and not just water etc?
i unfortunatly have failed miserably so far i was supposed to be fasting today but ended up eating ooops soo im going to start again tonight at midnight and finish it next saturday morning with fruit juice and soft fruits
i weigh 50kg and am about 5ft4" female 21 if that makes any difference
i find that over exercising can be a downfall on a fast so i plan on just doing my light weights for my arms, maybe about 100 sit ups and half an hour of jogging a day (as long as i feel i can)

i know you need to burn 3,500 calories to lose 1 pound but im not sure if fat is burned differently during fasting any information on this would be great!

also if anyone else is planning a 7 day fast and would like to email for support or anything that would be great im really lacking the will-power atm :(

I would be careful about losing too much weight your only a kg or two away from being underweight. The amount of fat you lose on a fast is meant to be around a pound a day but this varies a lot mainly because of people body's composition. I have no idea how fit you are or your goals. But I guess your trying to lose fat on your belly as your doing so many situps.

Can you actually see your abs already? If you cannot ab exercises generally make you look fatter unluckily, also for any muscle group you shouldn't be training them everyday as there need time to recover. Maybe if you really want to do situps try doing them with holding a weight or even try just hold your legs a couple of inches of the ground while you do them to increase the difficulty.

I personally don't like situps I prefer doing other exercises that work the core from leg raises to power jumps (any exercise that your knees go above your hips work the lower ab muscles) or even some plank work. Even while jogging if you do things like "high knees" it will work your abs.

I am still trying to rid myself of my fat across my lower abs myself already got rid of most of it from my top two, but the fat my lower abs still evading me but it is slowly decreasing.

If your having problems water fasting you could always try juice fasting instead it's easier to do but will be less efficient mainly depending on how much you drink. After doing that for a while water fasting will become easier for you.

Cory has a few good ideas there, RedRoses.. but please bear in mind how many calories represent a kilogram of weight depends on the source of these calories: Fat supplies double the energy per weight that carbohydrate or protein does..

So to make life simple, just use the energy and enjoy the fast.. your body will decide what to use from where!
