Hi I have created this category for 010 members to list all the pros and cons they are experiencing associated with their 010 every other day fasting practice. If you are not a 010 member please don't post here thank you.

for me
# 1 benefit is to give my digestive track a rest. my BM habits are much better when I do 010. Thats my primary reason. I have a slow metabolism and sadly enough when i do eat every day food sits there.
#2 I feel less obsessed about food, and more connected to the next meal I will have. I can select or create a yummy recipe and have that on my eating day - feeling very calm, grateful for the nutrition, and MUCH more mindful about what I'm eating, and how i am eating (i used to eat while working)
#3 weight loss - it keeps my weight where I want it to be (anywhere under 69kg - I'm 175cm tall)
#4 better immune system - no time for pathogens to survive - as my body has time to heal and work on itself 010.
#5 It's very cool ;) and all my friends are envious (we all work with plant medicines down in Peru and already our diet is pretty strict and to add fasting to this -- well you get the idea) - the one's that love me will ask "are you eating today or fasting?" I really appreciate that.
#6 the youthing genes - Dr. Gabriel Cousens in his book titled "Spiritual Nutrition" he advocates fasting and live food, and he says that there is a lot of research proving that people who fast live longer and healthier lives than those who dont.
#7 deeper connection with my plant medicines - my body is cleaner thus I can access deeper levels of my psyche and understand things more clearly.
#8 deeper compassion - fasting really helps me connect more with humanity. I sometimes will dedicate my fasting day to a cause, personal or community or otherwise. I think its a noble cause that can boost the vibration.

thats all that comes to me now from the 010's i've done. if more comes up i will gladly share.

Pros:
Clearer, more beautiful skin
Bloat is gone.
1 day is easy to accomplish
Not overwhelming
You lose weight
No real tendency to binge
If you eat on a non-eating day you're just 1 day fast away from a redo
All the benefits of a longer fast, just at a slower pace.
It can be adopted as a life long practice
It is easy to do and no big deal
You can work it in easily with your social calendar
Easier to keep it a secret from others

Cons:
My hair is falling out
Healing is a little slower

These are cons but relatively benign ones. As the body renews itself it also discards dead skin at a faster rate. And healing depending on what type of healing can take a little longer as there may be more toxins in the blood as the body is processing them and I there are no doubt other reasons too but essentially both of the above or not permanent but will resolve over a longer period of intermittent fasting. At least I would like to think that is the case. :)

Agree

I am not worried about the hair...it will grow back.
I would rather have a slower healing process...less chance of throwing yourself back into bad food, getting horrible detox symptoms etc.

off the top of my head...

Pros
-can eat whatever you want on eating days and still lose weight
-save money on food
-simple plan, easy to follow, no calorie counting
-food choices are better on eating days, more nutrient rich foods
-better sleep especially on fasting nights
-less sinus congestion
-better skin tone
-detachment from situational eating (ie, it's lunchtime, i should be eating even if not hungry)
-perception of hunger as just a feeling in the stomach not connected to food.
-more focused on the present on fasting days, one step at a time.

Cons
-hunger can be uncomfortable at times but if you keep moving it goes away.
-you get cold sometimes on fasting days.
-there are days when you have to eat socially.
-times of low energy on fasting days.
-sometimes you eat too much on eating days and this is uncomfortable.
-people think you are weird.

Pros

There are so many so this list will continue to grow.

-Much greater appreciation for food
-Much lighter positive mood
-Softer more manageable hair
-alkaline mouth less teeth brushing
-wake up without the heavy feeling
-lower blood pressure
-increase in libido
-more confidence
-better posture
-much less foggy head syndrome
-body awareness
-breathing calibration and awareness

cons

-Have to decline when offered food on a non eating day
