It was a tossup whether to make it an all fasting type event or try to keep it 'pure' i.e. just water or dry. Then I had the idea of the half days so that those who traditionally find it hard to fast on just water could draw satisfaction from having completed half a day it is also easier to commit to half a day on just water. I hope the rationale behind this train of thought makes sense. If not then I am open to suggestions.

David,

First, your idea is wonderful. And I think a pure fast (water only) is the best for many people, and I also think it's in the best interest of the Board. As I'm already into a 'long' fast of sorts, I don't think I want to alter what I do too much at this point in the fast.

That being said, I know I could go at least one day (water only), but I don't think I want to push it. So please feel free to put me down for one (but not more than that) of the dates I've chosen. How about this Saturday, March 9th? I could do the full day. Please let me know if that will work.

Thanks for your thoughts on the matter Ockeghem. Have you given any thought to a half a day (am) or (pm) this should not interfere too much with your routine? BTW do you think we should make the calendar editable for all site members in that way they can add and delete as they see fit?

David,

I was thinking about doing one full day on Saturday. But you can put me down for the first half of that day if you wish. I just did not want to go more than two days without coffee during my fasts, as it helps to keep me motivated during my no-food fasts and has little to no effect on my heart rate.

And yes, I think it's a good idea to make the calendar editable for all members.

okay well the calendar is now editable for all members so you can add dates and delete them as you desire but only your own entries please. And add the am and or pm next to your entry too. Lets see if we can make this work.

David,

I have powers that are known only to me. ;)

Actually, I have no idea. But I like how it looks. It may be because I went into the dates section for March 9th, and accidentally made my ending date for the next day (March 10th). When I did this it created a grey-ish looking highlighted section that somehow lengthened my name over into the next person's day, which I then corrected. Perhaps the highlighted section remained?

Hello all,

Well, I abstained from coffee (and everything else, including water) during my scheduled time. I actually decided to do a dry fast for my calendar time since it was only for about eighteen hours. The only problem I had today was logging on, but David explained why that was happening.

Happy fasting to all. :)

I wasn't quite sure if I was supposed to do just am or both, but I did both and I feel great : D!

Dry fasting is always more mentally challenging for me than water fasting. I haven't done more than 24 hours dry fasting but it's always a very interesting experience.
