Dear Dr.

I don't know if you remember in another post I have placed in this forum but I had to break my fast (twice) after being hospitalized. The reason was unknown as all of my blood work seemed normal and there was no particular reason to it according to my western medicine doctor. You have told me based on my blood results that I have slight iron deficiency perhaps due to fact that I was doing the master cleanse. I listed your advices; firstly read many things in this website and secondly started taking liquid iron supplement till now. I am planning to start a juice feast starting this Thursday for 60 days (my goal). In between I will also do some water fasts lets say every 10 days for 2-3 days. I really do not want to go back to the hospital:))) I know I sound like a child but it was really terrible. I was unable to breath for straight 6 hours, palpitations, fainting. I have few questions and I really hope you can guide me:

- I am planning to drink 2 liters of fresh juices and 1 liters of water a day. is this a good plan in terms of the amount of juice I need to take?
- I am planning to do daily exercising. Can I do beside cardio also weight training? or will this bring my iron level down?
- What can I do to avoid iron deficiency during my fast?
- Shall I do a colon cleansing or enema as in my last hospitalization, Dr.s said I had a huge amount of stool in my colons which was unusual. or shall I use laxative (I know your opinion about them).
- What are the extra things I can do to fasten detoxification and increase weight loss as well?

Thank you

Kerim

Dear Kerim, thanks for the post.

IF training brings down your iron level, it is becasue it stimulates the production of muscle and the muscle contains iron. Thus it actually keeps the iron in your body even though less would be measureable (in the blood).

Most fruit contains good amoutns of iron but if you juice anyway, you can mix a bit of dark greens into the juice to increase th iron content.

I do NOT advise an enema or anything going up your colon from the wrong (bottom) end. And with your contemplated diet I see no reason to flush it even from the top.

Laxatives are poisons, albeit selective. I do NOT use or prescribe them.

Repetitive cycles of detoxification activities is the best way I know of to detoxify the system.

Bear in mind these are all "generic" remarks and for individual advice you should be examined by a health professional first.

Best wishes

André
