Urine Therapy

I fully agree with Milena.. yes urine is primarily water so it can be an emergency source of hydration in case you are lost in the desert. But sometimes it can become so concentrated that it could dehydrate you, like sea water would. Of course if you live in the Space Station the urine is recirculated, but only after removing the waste in it.

Urea (one of the waste products in urine) is widely used as a component of skin lotions and creams, and I know some artisans who urinate on their hands to make the skin hard and tough.

Interesting topic I agree but like dear Milena I would fast dry for a long time before drinking urine.

This is such a funny topic. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. It's all very interesting but I hope I never have to try it.

One thing I do use my urine for, and it has always worked without a failure, is on burns. For instance if I touch something super hot I will either pee on the cotton ball or directly on the burn. It immediately relieves the pain and induces healing.

True, dear Milena, many medicines designed for treatment of burn wounds contain urea, potassium and some other salts.

I also agree the whole topic is interesting but it is somewhat inappropriate in those forums that are specifically dedicated to the medical angle on fasting. may I suggest any further discussion continuing in the open (public) forums please.

I personally would never want to drink my own urine, but I do remember it's meant to be good on a beach if you get stung by a jelly fish. I didn't know it also works on burns.

Urine therapy healed liver cancer.

Read the story here:
http://www.healingcancernaturally.com/urine-therapy-livercancer-cure.html

I personally difficult to comprehend such therapy, but still I cannot judge urine therapy as something to be totally avoided. Testimonies about its healing effects are there and many. Are all these stories lies?

Reddal,

Thank you for sharing the link.

I don't think any of us dismiss that urine therapy has some validity. What we are saying is that personally we would elect not to try it. Just like there is a lot of validity in the use of leeches and maggots for healing, in fact they are now FDA approved for medical treatment in the US, but personally I would not go for such a curative measure.

Indeed we have been using maggots & leeches from times immemorial.. I remember whilst working in a British hospital a few years back how the leeches were brought in on ice and grew to 50 times their original size in what felt like a few minutes.. removing dead blood from the tissues.

Please bear in mind that many diseases spontaneously resolve and often they do so not because of our interventions but in spite thereof. If this resolution happens at a time when a certain therapy has been applied the treatment might get the credit. Only in large trials, however, can we determine if they work reliably and persistently in all people.

Incidentally, concerning "healing cancer": In my country there is a law that no one, not even a specialist oncologist, can claim to "heal cancer".. likely because the poor sufferers are so often exploited. We should always consider what we offer to be part of a greater whole.

I have recently discovered urine therapy / amaroli and I can say that it has helped me in several instances.

First of all, using urine in a neti pot has worked wonders when I am congested or have a sinus infection! When my gal and I were both bed ridden with the flu recently, I went strictly water and urine for a few days.. I did recover a little quicker than her. She is appalled by the thought of drinking her own urine, but accepts me for who I am :)

Overall, when I am drinking a glass of my own urine a day I tend to feel better and carry a more vibrant energy.

To each their own I suppose, but I can say that it has worked for me!

Drink up!

Welcome with your first post dear fast4.. with your being so open minded I am sure you'll forgive my honesty also:

Drinking urine is not only aesthetically revolting, it is a motion of no confidence in your body's innate wisdom. Your kidneys was tasked to remove some toxins from the blood. Now you put them back in?

Makes no sense. Any "benefit" is likely the result of the self fulfilling prophecy, the placebo effect, the feeling that if I punish myself like this, I "must" receive some benefit. Mind over matter.

The most universal healing force is fasting. Not putting things into you but allowing things that makes you unwell to get out of you.

Cow urine has been recently granted US Patents (No. 6,896,907 and 6,410,059) for its medicinal properties, particularly as a bioenhancer and as an antibiotic, antifungal and anticancer agent. As an anti-cancer agent it increases the potency of “Taxol” ( Paclitaxel ) against MCF-7, a human breast cancer cell line, in in vitro assays (US Patent No. 6,410,059).

Perhaps the original form of urine therapy was cow urine therapy rather than one's own urine. :S

Vietnam POWs wrote about letting maggots heal their injuries and using urine to flush the dead tissue and maggots.

Several years ago the young man who was trapped in a slot canyon in south Utah ultimately drank his own urine before cutting off his arm to free himself.

Maybe urine is antibiotic, antifungal but so is bleach. I wouldn't drink that either.
