acmaragh506 wrote: Day 7!!! I am so excited to reach this point; it is the most progress I have made on a fast in months! I have had a little trouble falling asleep, but I suspect it's because I need less sleep while I fast.

I have also been blessed to have a walking buddy who goes on hour-long walk three times a week. It has really pushed me to keep up with walking, and it benefits me greatly!

Here is to day 7, and tomorrow, week 2!

Acmaragh506,

Congratulations! I remember the first time I reached one week. That was a major milestone for me. Keep up the great work! :)

Thank you thank you Ockeghem!!!! It is such a good feeling; it's as if I am hitting my fasting stride. I am so grateful because it makes such a difference in my physical, emotional, and mental well being when I fast.

Week 2 already! I hope to ultimately beat my personal record of 21 days, and pray to reach 28. One day at a time, however. :-)

Day 8 is here, and other than trouble sleeping, I am feeling pretty well. I will be taking a walk later today, and doing another elimination cycle.

Overall, I am slowly letting go of my intense cravings. They are less frequent and intense, which is a big relief. Week 2 is generally easier than week 1, so I am grateful to have past the first major hurdle. :-)

Day 8!

Day 9 has gone well thus far. I am having a lot of back pain, so another round of walking and elimination is in order.

I have been drinking little, and am thrilled to report virtually no hunger or food cravings. Day 9! :-)

Day 10 has started pretty well, despite the aforementioned back pain. I will up my water intake today, and just rest.

My skin has begun showing acne spots, which unfortunately is my best indicator that the fast is working. The good news is that this is only on my back, and I will try rubbing them occassionally with a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water to reduce inflamation.

Small price to pay, in the grand scheme of things. Day 10! :-)

Day 11 has begun well, though I have been drinking very little. I sleep for a few hours at a time, but at least feel rested when I do wake.

Today will consist of light stretching, and at least one elimination cycle. Other than that, I am still not weighing myself and reminding myself to be patient about my measurements not changing much in the last few days.

That will come in a week or two. :-) Day 11!

Congrats! Sounds like things are going well. I haven't gotten to your place yet, but I do know how beneficial exercise is, for changing the body. Do you exercise? I like to go outside - ride a bike, do arm swings and walk. Again, I haven't fasted for 11 days yet, so I have no idea what type of energy one has, at that point. I just know exercise has always helped me move things along. Keep going !

Hi Danielle, I have been exercising twice a week thus far. It has consisted of light weights and long walks. I have not wanted to push going more days, because I have noticed that I get fatigued very quickly and its a bit unpredictable! Also, I need to recover quickly each time because I am still working.

Thanks for the support! Day 12 has begun well, as I got a full night's sleep. I will also do some work, and hopefully take a walk later today. It amazes me that week 2 is coming to a close already!

Definitely a blessing. :-)

Day 13 has come, and I feel ok. I did not sleep well last nite, partly due to back pain. I have once again been a bit frustrated to see very little change in my midsection. If anyone has recommendations, please share!

I was unable to walk yesterday, but will increase my water intake and walk today. Day 13! :-)

Day 14!!!!!! This marks the best that I have done with fasting since June (as I completed 2 weeks then as well). It also means that I am one week away from tying my personal best of 21 days.

I am so excited to reach this point, and I can honestly see the potential to go past 21 days! I did a lot of walking yesterday and was extremely fatigued when I came home, so today I will stay in and try some pilates or yoga.

I also slept fairly soundly and will continue increasing my water intake. 2 weeks!!!

Day 15, Week 3. Today has begun okay so far, though I slept off and on and awoke late. I am still experiencing skin eruptions on my back, which I must say I have a love/hate relationship with. They tend to leave scars, because my skin is sensitive.

I will be doing light weights and walking today, and following that with an elimination cycle. Mentally, I feel very clear and have no cravings and hunger at all. I LOVE that!

Day 15. :cheer:

Day 16 has been fairly good, though I have been weak off and on. I was able to do some walking today, and will try to get back to a normal sleep schedule.

I am still a bit discouraged by little loss of additional inches, but I know that a longer fast will inevitably produce the desired changes.

I suppose I am eager to get back to a healthier lifestyle, but I must take thjs tjme to reflect and ensure that I do not abandon it again.

Day 16. :-)

Day 17 has begun well. I had a very dry and painful throat, so I had a few sips of hot unsweetened green tea. From now on, however, I will drink only hot water if my throat hurts.

I have had decent energy levels, and though I awoke early, I was able to get a little more sleep. I am happy to still have the mental faculties to continue working, so hopefully I will be able to walk later.

So far so good, here's to the middle of week 3 already!

Day 18 has been pretty decent overall. Due to dry throat I have stayed very hydrated, which helps me keep my energy up. I had a stomachache followed by a very small bowel movement, which helped.

I did some light walking and stretching, and am still very thrilled to have no desire to eat. I cook daily for my partner with no cravings at all. Fasting really is a miracle to gain control of yourself and your appetite. :-)

Day 18!

well done!! great to follow your progress. inspiring Acmaragh.

Thank you MarcM! It means so much to know that others are following along and possibly gaining some benefit from my posts.

Day 19 has been ok, but I have found myself getting very winded. Cooking all day today for my partner was quite a chore. I did not have cravings really, I just found that I had to sit down often. I did stay hydrated, which certainly helped.

I've discovered that cooking for him causes no cravings since, well, I've had my own cooking and can make it anytime! I ALSO am entitled to a back and foot rub, thus it is a decent trade off. :-)

Day 19. Note to self: my personal record of 21 days..... I am taking you out!!

Day 20 has been a bit difficult, due to some headaches and dehydration. I felt a bit discouraged, because there is still no change in my measurements this week.

Despite that, I do appreciate the other gifts fasting has given me. Little cravings and hunger, mental clarity, and overall calmness are wonderful to have.

Moreover, tomorrow marks tying my previous record of 21 days. Something in me has decided to really challenge myself and go for 6 weeks. I feel compelled and ready.

Almost the end of week 3. Yay :-)

Thank you David! It feels great to get back to this point, and to know that I will surpass it is also amazing!

Day 21 has passed fairly well. My energy stayed pretty high throughout the day, despite a lot of walking in the SCORCHING sun, and giving a singing performance with my a cappella group.

I did not complete an elimination cycle, though I noticed that my skin eruptions have subsided, leaving me instead with dark spots on my back. This is nothing new, however, so it does not dishearten me at all.

Here is to day 22, week 4!!!!!!! B)
