Thank you so much Shant!!!!!! It's an awesome feeling to get to this next goal of mine, and I am happy to say that I have felt better today than I have in awhile!

I am so mentally clear, and the back pain is very minimal today. I mostly dry fasted today, taking few sips of hot water as necessary.

The sun may have given me a boost indeed, perhaps you're right. :-)

On to day 23!!!! Week 4 already. AMAZING! :cheer:

Day 23 has gone fairly well. I have had no back pain (yay!), though my stomach is a bit uneasy, and drinking water has been a chore.

I suspect that I may need to cleanse my colon, though I am not thrilled at the thought of an enema or colonic.

I will consider this, however, if my unsettled stomach persists. I will go for a short walk later today, and definitely complete an elimination cycle.

Thank you Ockeghem! I have been blessed thus far, to be sure. I don't wish to set a predetermined time limit, but I am hoping to stick with it to 40-42 days. It is something I have prayed for for awhile now.

More than halfway there already!

Acmaragh,

I too wanted to do a forty-plus day fast. I wasn't sure that I could do it, but once I got to about day twenty-one I was certain that I would accomplish my goal. Having said that, I don't think I need to do another one of that length. I do want to fast every week for the rest of my life, though.

Happy fasting! :)

Thank you Ockeghem! I agree; weekly fasts will be lifelong for me. I think I will indeed make my goal of 40 days, and since I do have weight loss goals, I may complete one other longer fast soon.

That said, Day 24 has gone pretty well. I have been more tired than usual, and having intermittent chest pains. I suspect it may be dehydration, so I will chug water to see if I am correct.

On to Day 25. :-)

Day 25 has brought some unexpected symptoms. First, my chest pains were intense last night, and made it difficult to sleep.

After I awoke, I began feeling nauseated, and threw up. Since my stomach is empty, I was essentially just retching. Unpleasant, to say the least. However, since this happened, I was able to nap. My chest pains are also much fainter, and my stomach feels fine. I will re-hydrate as much as I can for the rest of the day.

I have also decided to do a home colon cleanse, so I ordered the necessary equipment. I have yet to evacuate my bowels, which had happened by the third week of my last longer fast.

Despite these trials, I will continue my fast and do not feel discouraged. I suppose this is detox at its finest. Day 25.

You will in time, danielle. Don't beat yourself up about it.

Day 26, thankfully, has been much easier than Day 25. No nausea, no chest pains, and only slight back pain.

I have been dry fasting today, and will try to complete an elimination cycle. I have been tired however, so I am not pushing too much exercise on myself.

I am excited to near the Day 30 mark! It's been a real blessing.

Day 27 has been ok thus far. I have tried to stay more hydrated, which has kept my energy level up. I had some pressure to eat today, but I simply refused to give in. :-)

I also weighed myself for the first time today, in order to begin checking trends in my weight loss. I will not check daily from here on out, as this process is much more pleasant without constant weighing

I feel undecided about proceeding with my fasts, which is why I have begun weighing myself. I will either complete two 40ish day fasts not too far apart, or 3 28ish day fasts not too far apart.

This is to minimize the deeper detox symptoms, because I can foresee them interfering with my work responsibilities. And, though not my main focus, I do need to maximize weight loss due to back pain and possible surgery needs.

On to day 28!

Day 28 has been okay, but fatigue has really been setting in. I have gotten winded several times today, perhaps due to heat, carrying a heavy bag, and a lot of walking to catch transportation, etc.

I have made a point to drink more today than I have for most of the fast, which helped combat a painful dry throat.

My back pain is prompting an elimination cycle. I am also a bit frustrated by my lack of inches lost, as they have stayed the same for the last two weeks.

I will re-weigh tomorrow, and decide if I will break my fast on day 31.

Dear acmaragh506, thank you for your post. I found it very inspirational to say the least. Please elaborate more on how you do your elimination cycle.
Do you follow the steps like light exercise then message, sweet and shower etc. Or just what ever feels right at the moment?

Keep On Keeping On!

Thank you so much Mrs. L!! That means so much to me, and sharing this journey has been more helpful to me than I ever thought possible.

As for elimination, I modify the exercise portion. I get fatigued very quickly (raising my arms overhead is tiring lately!) So I try to breathe very deeply to raise my heart rate. As for the rest of the steps, I follow them fairly closely. I brush my skin with a hard bristle brush, I shower with hot water, then allow my skin to air dry for the cold phase.

As for today, Day 29, I am still trying to keep my water intake up. This seems to have increased my weight loss yesterday. For now, I intend to go 40 days. Also, I gave myself my first at-home enema, which I tolerated well! I have had nearly no bowel movements, so this helped a lot with stomach pains and discomfort.

Today marks Day 30!!! I am thankful to say that I had a much slower day, so I had less walking to do in the heat.

I am still very tired, however, so I took an afternoon nap, which helped with my low energy. I have not been able to drink as much water today, but I am really trying to consume at least 50 oz of water.

The taste in my mouth makes it difficult, so I have scraped my tongue to help with this. My weight loss has continued, slowly but surely. I am pleased to see this, because I know that it is true fat burning as opposed to water weight.

So onto Day 31. The end of this fast is getting close!

Day 31 is coming to a close, and it was difficult off and on today. I had a long day of meetings, and a very heavy bag I had to carry with me. On the bus heading to school, I was frightened by a very strong dizzy spell and a fear of possibly fainting.

I realized, however, that this was because the windows were closed and someone had on strong perfume. The rest of the day consisted of my usual energy levels, though I have only had around 30-40 oz. of water. Oh well.

Tomorrow I will do another enema, which helped the stomach discomfort I had a few days ago. On to Day 32!!!

Day 32 is nearly over, and I found myself quite drained. I stayed home, did housework, and tried to stay hydrated with little success.

I also did my second enema, which made me very tired. Upon researching this however, this is common among fasters. Other than that, I tolerated it well.

I have also noticed my tongue beginning to clear which is a good sign. Since my losses are steady, I am also likely going to do a full six weeks rather than 40 days. Quite a goal!

Overall, energy was low today but spirits are high. On to day 33! :-)

Day 33 has ended, and my energy levels were ok though I did stay home the whole day. I am really struggling with hydration, and it is causing a burning sensation in my throat and dry lips.

I will chug at least 30 oz before bed, but it is very frustrating to keep having this issue. Also, I did an at home skin treatment that is supposed to assist in tightening loose skin. We shall see!

Onto Day 34.

Acmaragh506,

When I was in my fifth and sixth weeks, I didn't drink very much at all. It actually got to the point where I didn't like the taste of water any longer. But of course once I broke the fast I liked it again.

Happy fasting! :)

Thank you Ockeghem, so helpful to know! Shant, thank you for your support! The treatment is a mixture of bentonite clay, warm distilled water, green tea, and essential oil. You rub on the skin, wrap yourself in Ace bandages, then sit in a steamy bathroom for 45 minutes before rinsing it off. I noticed skin softness immediately, but I assume a good 5 treatments will be necessary to see any tightening.

As for today, I really pushed myself to hydrate and had some success. I was at home once again, so it has been nice to have 3 days of rest. Tomorrow is back to work! Energy wise I feel fine, more energetic than last week.

Perhaps this is the energy boost I have read about after Day 30. Onto Day 35! :-)
