sparkling water while fasting?

I've heard some people say that sparkling water can reduce hunger, but I was wondering if it had any other benefits?

"It was found that drinking sparkling water[1] brought about significant reductions in the level of low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (generally regarded as a risk factor for heart disease), as well as a significant increase in levels of high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (generally taken to reduce heart disease risk)."

No Idea if there's any validity to this. Would sparkling water be acceptable while fasting? Also, If traveling what brands of water do you recommend?

Perrier, Fiji, Evian?

Thanks a lot.
Love & Light
David.

David I have found carbonated water to be quite a good way to tackle the hunger during a fast. And as for which water while traveling I would recommend water in glass bottles when possible and also drinking from a range of different waters including Fiji etc. And you can go your instinct and use your taste buds as an indicator. I personally really like the taste of Fiji. I like Highland Spring and Perrier but wish they would not boost the naturally occurring Co2. If you run Evian through the Precipitator experiment it would put you off drinking it.

What's the precipitator excitement?

So in your opinion naturally sparkling water doesn't mess with the fast?

Water precipitator condenses all particles in water out of solution into solids.

No probably tap water and the other RO water but Evian would look very similar due to its high trubidity

Just be careful with that "test" dear David. I have seen people selling their filters and water processors based on a similar device and when I had a look at it, on the one side they had copper in the electrodes. Electrolysis simply released copper ions which coloured the water. You can have the same electrodes both sides but the copper will just be released at the anode..

Thank you Doctor. The one I use has iron and aluminium electrodes no copper at all. Presumably the one you are referring to would also stain the RO water?

Actually iron electrodes can do the same. The colour you see may just be iron ions given off from the electrode. Try stainless steel electrodes as a trial, to see if it's the electricity or the electrode that does the colouring. And do turn the samples around also to compare the effect.

OP its weird that you say that because during my last fast I drank Perrier a couple of times and it seemed to relax or to reduce some pressure in my heart, felt awesome actually almost like I didn't realise there was pressure until I drank it.

Has anyone tried the brand smartwater for fasting? They say it has electrolytes in it? Does that help or not make a difference?

I've used smart water while fasting. Not because of the electrolytes but because I enjoy the flavor. I also like the size and shape of the 1 liter bottle.
